Abiding in Prayer

When I wake up in the morning, I have a routine.

This routine that I have established has been a part of my life since quarantine began in March 2020. I wake up, I make breakfast for myself, I read a devotional book, I read a book on Christianity, and I pray. I have not broken this routine since March 2020.

~”Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”~2 Timothy 2:15, ESV~

~”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”~2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV~

One of the reasons that I have not broken this routine is because routines are Godly. Routines are what keep my mind focused and centered on Christ. Routines guard my heart from any form of evil. Routines center my mind on the King of kings and Lord of lords, my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Prayer is one of the most important parts of my routine because it gives me a space to communicate with God. I pray for an hour on most days. Sometimes, I will pray for a shorter time. Other days, I will pray for almost an hour, but not quite an hour.

I like prayer because it gets me ready for the whole day. Prayer prepares me for the whole day because it is what motivates me to do homework for school (I am a Liberty University Online student studying for my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling), go to work at my job, and succeed in all that I put my heart and my mind into for the day.

I cannot live a day without prayer. I cannot live a day without prayer because it strengthens me to continue to go on as I have a relationship with my Heavenly Father. Prayer is power for me. Prayer is power indeed, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

~”If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”~John 15:7, ESV~

As I abide in the Lord, I believe that God alone will answer my prayers. As I abide in the Lord, I believe that through the power of Jesus Christ that He will answer my prayers. As I abide in the Lord, I believe that my obedience to Him will pay off as I continue to pray without ceasing.

God is faithful. God has always been faithful to me. I cannot wait until that day that I am continually praising the Lord for His goodness and for His faithfulness to me in this dark age. I will praise Him, always and forever! Amen!

~”But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”~Matthew 6:6, ESV~

God will reward me in secret. God will reward me openly for continuing to pray to Him. I praise Him, day and night! Thank You Jesus! Hallelujah!
